SLANT P(ART)Y: Open Call
AVOEC will be performing at the next SLANT, do you have something to contribute too?
SLANT is a celebration of creativity, a platform for local, independent artists to share their work, a space for community-building, and an opportunity to connect with other artists' whose work we admire. It's a dance party, an exhibition, a place for performances. The next SLANT will happen on November 19th at Auróra, and it awaits your contribution.
For this edition we were inspired by the shift in the seasons, by the slow transition that leaves behind the radiant Summer and delivers us to the depths of Winter. It’s a time for harvest and preparation for the cold months to come in the North Hemisphere. In many cultures, this is a privileged time of the year to celebrate death and to collectively remember the dead through popular and religious parties and holidays.
We welcome your artistic contributions. The theme serves as a possible source of inspiration, not as a mandatory subject. If the Autumnal Equinox and the celebration of death and rebirth resonate with you, feel free to use it as a point of departure. If you have been working on a project but haven’t yet found the occasion to share it, we’re also interested in hearing about it - whatever your subject might be.
